Job Summary

The Shire of Broome is seeking a reliable, self-motivated, and physically fit individual to join their Parks & Gardens team as a Casual Gardener Operator. Operating under the operational schedule of Monday to Friday (6:30am – 4:00pm) out of the municipal depot, the successful candidate will participate directly in the day-to-day upkeep, weeding, pest management, and enhancement of the Shire's diverse public assets. This dynamic role covers everything from maintaining verges, coastal reserves, and drainage fields to providing community education services, all while living and breathing the organization's core corporate PEARLS values.

Key Responsibilities

Skills & Requirements

  • Must possess a current, unencumbered Australian 'C' Class Driver’s License (holding an Medium Rigid (MR) driver's license is considered highly desirable).
  • Demonstrated physical capability to perform manual labor tasks comfortably under intense, humid, or tropical weather patterns.
  • Strong internal motivation with a solid track record of reliable workplace attendance, punctuality, and clear team collaboration.
