Job Summary

Glenorchy City Council is seeking an enthusiastic, motivated, and highly nurturing Early Childhood Educator holding a Certificate III qualification to join their Child Care Connections team. Working alongside senior childhood coordinators across the Benjafield and Berriedale facilities, this foundational role focuses on delivering high-quality, developmentally appropriate early education programs for children aged from infancy to seven years. The successful candidate will maintain interactive indoor and outdoor learning environments while fostering excellent, supportive partnerships with families and staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute directly to the effective implementation of professional, play-based educational programs tailored to children from birth to 7 years old.
  • Maintain safe, highly supportive, and clean learning environments that fully comply with National Quality Standards (NQS).
  • Observe, record, and track individual child behavioral developments and milestones to support custom curriculum planning.
  • Deliver nurturing care and physical supervision, prioritizing the physical safety, nutritional needs, and general wellbeing of children.
  • Build open, professional, and highly collaborative daily relationships with parents, legal guardians, and multi-disciplinary staff teams.
  • Participate actively in team programmatic discussions, documentation logs, and routine room setup requirements.

Skills & Requirements

  • Possess a minimum completed Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care from an approved training organization.
  • Must have First Aid Certificate
  • Strong, practical understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and the National Quality Framework guidelines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication style, allowing clear, respectful collaboration with diverse families and coworkers.
  • Meticulous attention to detail regarding health, safety hygiene practices, medical notification cards, and incident recording.
  • High level of personal adaptability, teamwork, and genuine emotional intelligence when managing busy group settings.
