Job Summary
Glenorchy City Council is looking for a structured, professional, and proactive Diploma-qualified Early Childhood Educator to join their Child Care Connections division. Based across the council's premium Benjafield and Berriedale long day care facilities, this pivotal role involves leading the planning and implementation of progressive, play-based learning frameworks for children from birth to seven years. The successful candidate will drive room-level compliance, mentor junior staff and Certificate III educators, and cultivate rich, supportive partnerships with families and early development stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, documentation, and operational delivery of high-quality early childhood programs aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).
- Supervise and maintain safe, inclusive, and deeply nurturing room environments that satisfy National Quality Standards (NQS).
- Oversee comprehensive child developmental records, map individual learning profiles, and guide targeted curriculum extensions.
- Act as a primary point of contact for families, providing professional developmental feedback and routing inquiries appropriately.
- Provide positive leadership, daily direction, and professional mentorship to Certificate III educators, trainees, and students.
- Supply versatile programming and operational backup across the child care center to manage changing attendance priorities.
Skills & Requirements
- Completed Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (or an equivalent qualification officially certified by ACECQA).
- Must have First Aid Certificate
- Proven track record operating as a room leader or advanced office/classroom manager within an approved early learning setting.
- Refined verbal and written communication skills paired with an approachable, collaborative, and professional demeanor.
- Meticulous attention to detail when compiling official documentation, safety logs, and developmental data dashboards.
- High level of personal initiative, flexibility, and problem-solving capacity when operating in dynamic center environments.
