Job Summary
Position: Pathology Collector (Phlebotomist)
Employer Name: SA Pathology – Statewide Clinical Support Services (SCSS), Central Adelaide Local Health Network (CALHN)
Required Experience: No minimum experience required. Anyhow experience in a medical pathology laboratory or hospital or other area of health, using pathology specific computer programs or data entry is highly regarded.
Work Arrangement: On-site
Employment Location: Surrounding Mount Barker & Adelaide Hills region, South Australia
Collect blood and other pathology specimens using safe venepuncture techniques.
Perform specimen collection while ensuring patient comfort, safety and dignity.
Correctly identify, label and process pathology specimens according to laboratory protocols.
Undertake specimen preparation, packaging and transportation to laboratory facilities.
Accurately perform patient registration, data entry and electronic record management.
Respond professionally to patient enquiries and provide excellent customer service.
Maintain accurate documentation while complying with privacy and confidentiality requirements.
Assist with specimen reception and routine laboratory support activities.
Ensure compliance with infection prevention, workplace health and safety and quality standards.
Contribute positively to a supportive multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Salary & Employment Benefits
OPS1 Salary: AUD $57,853 – $63,695 per annum (pro-rata).
OPS2 Salary: AUD $66,441 – $69,504 per annum (pro-rata).
