About This Opportunity

Limestone Coast Local Health Network (LCLHN) is seeking dedicated and compassionate Registered Midwives to join its maternity services team across regional South Australia.   • Required Education Level: Currently holds or who is eligible to hold a current practicing certificate and Registered Midwife qualification with current registration or eligibility for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA)

  • Salary: AUD $74,831 – $102,103 per annum (full-time equivalent) + Superannuation, Leave Loading, Zone Allowance, Professional Development Allowance and Salary Packaging Benefits

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, evidence-based and woman-centred midwifery care across maternity services.
  • Support women and families throughout pregnancy, labour, birth and postnatal periods.
  • Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualised midwifery care.
  • Work collaboratively with obstetric, nursing and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Promote respectful, culturally safe and family-centred care practices.
  • Monitor maternal and newborn wellbeing and respond appropriately to clinical changes.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation in accordance with professional standards.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities, education and continuous professional development.

Skills & Requirements

  • Professional Registration: Registered or eligible for registration as a Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
  • Clinical Experience: Demonstrated ability to provide safe and effective midwifery care.
  • Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills when supporting women, families and healthcare teams.
  • Clinical Decision Making: Ability to assess maternity care needs and make appropriate clinical decisions.
  • Culturally Safe Practice: Commitment to providing respectful and inclusive care for diverse communities.
