About This Opportunity

The Central Adelaide Local Health Network (CALHN) is seeking a motivated Urology Service Registrar to join the Royal Adelaide Hospital on a full-time temporary training contract. This three-year training opportunity provides extensive exposure to urological surgery while working alongside experienced consultant urologists within one of South Australia's leading tertiary hospitals.

As part of the Urology Unit, you will develop advanced clinical and surgical skills through structured supervision, multidisciplinary collaboration, teaching opportunities, and clinical research. Upon completion of the training program, CALHN will work with the successful applicant to identify a suitable placement within SA Health for the remainder of the three-year contract.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality medical care within the Royal Adelaide Hospital Urology Unit.
• Perform clinical duties under the supervision of the Head of Unit and senior consultant urologists.
• Develop skills in general, open, and endoscopic urological surgery.
• Participate in multidisciplinary patient management and clinical decision-making.
• Supervise and support junior medical officers and medical students.
• Contribute to clinical teaching, education, and professional development activities.
• Participate in clinical research projects and quality improvement initiatives.

Skills & Requirements

• Medical Qualification: MBBS or equivalent recognised medical degree.
• Professional Registration: Current registration or eligibility for registration with AHPRA.
• Clinical Experience: Demonstrated experience in general, open, and endoscopic urological surgery.
• Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution abilities.
