As a Radiographer, you will play an important role in delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging services across a broad range of clinical specialties. Working with a high level of professional autonomy, you will perform complex radiographic examinations using contemporary imaging technology while contributing to safe, patient-centered care and positive health outcomes.

Working within a multidisciplinary healthcare team, you will collaborate with radiologists, medical officers, nurses and allied health professionals to support excellent service delivery. You will also provide guidance and support to radiographers, graduates and students, while contributing to research, quality improvement and departmental initiatives that help advance imaging services and clinical practice.

About This Opportunity

SA Medical Imaging is seeking qualified and motivated Radiographers to join its 2026 Radiographer Talent Pool based at the Royal Adelaide Hospital. This 12-month talent pool provides an opportunity to be considered for current and future permanent vacancies as they become available across one of South Australia's leading public medical imaging providers.

As a Radiographer, you will deliver high-quality diagnostic imaging services across a wide range of clinical specialties using modern imaging equipment and advanced radiographic techniques. Working with a high level of professional autonomy, you will contribute to accurate diagnosis, treatment planning and safe, patient-centred healthcare.

Working closely with radiologists, medical officers, nurses and allied health professionals, you will also support departmental quality improvement initiatives, mentor junior radiographers and students, and contribute to the ongoing development of medical imaging services throughout SA Medical Imaging.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform complex diagnostic radiographic examinations across a broad range of clinical specialties.
  • Operate contemporary medical imaging equipment safely and efficiently.

  • Apply professional judgement and technical expertise during imaging procedures.
  • Collaborate with radiologists, medical officers, nurses and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.

  • Provide guidance, supervision and mentoring to graduate radiographers and students.

Skills & Requirements

  • Degree in Medical Radiation Science (Medical Imaging) or equivalent recognised qualification.
  • Eligible for registration with the Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia (MRPBA).
  • Current Radiation Use Licence or eligibility to obtain licensing in South Australia.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience as a Diagnostic Radiographer in a hospital or clinical imaging environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently perform complex radiographic examinations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Strong organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to delivering safe, patient-centred and evidence-based healthcare.
  • Ability to mentor junior staff while supporting continuous quality improvement initiatives.
