About This Opportunity

SA Medical Imaging is seeking compassionate and motivated Registered Nurses to join its 2026 Nursing Candidate Pool across regional South Australia. This opportunity allows nurses to work within Australia's largest public diagnostic imaging provider while supporting safe, evidence-based patient care in medical imaging departments.

Working across country sites including Port Pirie, Murray Bridge and Berri (Riverland General Hospital), you will provide high-quality nursing care for patients undergoing diagnostic imaging procedures while supporting multidisciplinary healthcare teams. Opportunities are available on casual and part-time contracts ranging from four weeks to twelve months.

This position provides an excellent opportunity for early-career Registered Nurses to strengthen their clinical knowledge, develop professional confidence, expand nursing skills and contribute to patient-centred healthcare within a supportive learning environment.

Job Summary

  • Classification: RN1 – Registered Nurse Level 1

  • Employment Type: Casual or Part-Time (4 weeks to 12 months contracts available)
  • Required Education Level: Currently holds or who is eligible to hold a current practicing certificate and registered Nurse qualification with current registration or eligibility for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA)
  • Required Experience: Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply or can demonstrated capability as an early-career Registered Nurse eligible for RN1 practice

  • Salary: AUD $77,824 – $106,187 per annum (pro-rata) + 12% Superannuation + Salary Packaging Benefits

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care within SA Medical Imaging services.
  • Prepare, assess and monitor patients before, during and after imaging procedures.
  • Support radiologists, radiographers and multidisciplinary healthcare professionals.
  • Provide person-centred nursing care while maintaining patient dignity and safety.
  • Supervise and support Enrolled Nurses, Assistants in Nursing and nursing students.
  • Participate in clinical handovers, documentation and care planning.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and clinical documentation.
  • Apply infection prevention and patient safety standards.
  • Promote quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based nursing practice.
  • Contribute to a collaborative and supportive healthcare environment.

Skills & Requirements

  • Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent recognised qualification.
  • Current registration or eligibility for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA).
  • Current practising certificate.
  • Minimum 1 year post-registration nursing experience or demonstrated RN1 competency.
  • Demonstrated clinical competence in delivering safe patient care.
  • Strong knowledge of contemporary nursing standards, legislation and professional practice.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Strong organisational, prioritisation and time management skills.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and quality improvement.
