About This Opportunity

East Metropolitan Health Service is seeking Senior Registrars in Anesthetics to join the Royal Perth Bentley Mount Lawley Group as part of the 2027, 2028 and 2029 intake.

Senior Registrars will provide high-quality, patient-centred anaesthetic care to both elective and emergency patients across Royal Perth Hospital, Bentley Health Service and Mount Lawley Hospital. The role provides an opportunity to further develop specialist clinical skills while working under the supervision of Consultant medical staff. The successful applicants will also contribute to the education and supervision of Resident Medical Officers and other non-ANZCA trainees, while working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to achieve WA Health and East Metropolitan Health Service performance and safety standards.

This is an open-ended recruitment pool. Suitable applicants may be placed in a pool from which appointments can be made when similar vacancies arise. Appointments may be made from the pool until 31 December 2030.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality anaesthetic care to elective and emergency patients.
  • Deliver patient-centred care to inpatients and outpatients within the speciality.
  • Work under the supervision and direction of Consultant medical staff.
  • Assess and manage patients in accordance with relevant clinical standards and protocols.
  • Provide training, supervision and education to Resident Medical Officers and other non-ANZCA trainees.
  • Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Contribute to National, State and East Metropolitan Health Service performance standards.
  • Support compliance with the National Safety and Quality Health Care Standards.
  • Participate in clinical education, professional development and relevant departmental activities.

Essential Requirements

  • Applicants must meet the relevant eligibility and appointment requirements for a Senior Registrar position in Anaesthetics.
