About This Opportunity

WA Country Health Service (WACHS) is seeking a Medical Imaging Technologist to join its Midwest region team in Carnarvon on a permanent full-time basis.

The successful applicant will examine patients in a professional manner and provide diagnostic imaging services as required by the medical profession. The position provides an opportunity to work within a country health service environment while delivering essential diagnostic services to the Carnarvon community.

The role requires demonstrated capability across General Radiography and Computed Tomography (CT), together with the ability to manage a broad range of examinations safely and efficiently. The successful applicant will also be expected to work autonomously, prioritise urgent cases and participate in an on-call roster.

Key Responsibilities

• Examine patients professionally and provide diagnostic imaging services as requested by medical practitioners.
• Perform a broad range of General Radiography examinations safely and efficiently.
• Perform Computed Tomography (CT) examinations in accordance with relevant clinical requirements and safety standards.
• Apply radiographic principles and adapt imaging techniques to complex, non-routine and high-acuity presentations.
• Maintain appropriate diagnostic image quality across a range of examinations.
• Work autonomously and manage workload effectively within an unsupervised environment.
• Prioritise urgent examinations and competing clinical demands.
• Participate in the required on-call roster.
• Maintain patient safety, radiation protection and privacy throughout imaging procedures.
• Communicate effectively with patients, medical practitioners, clinicians and multidisciplinary healthcare team members.
• Contribute to the delivery of quality diagnostic imaging services within the WACHS Midwest region.

Essential Requirements

• Tertiary qualification in Medical Imaging.
• Eligibility for registration with the Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia (MRPBA).
• Eligibility for licensing with the Radiological Council of Western Australia.
• Demonstrated experience and competency in General Radiography.
• Demonstrated experience and competency in Computed Tomography (CT).
• Ability to perform a broad range of imaging examinations safely and efficiently.
• Ability to adapt imaging techniques for complex, non-routine and high-acuity presentations while maintaining diagnostic image quality.
• Ability to work autonomously in an unsupervised environment.
• Ability to manage workloads, prioritise urgent cases and participate in an on-call roster.
