Key Responsibilities

• Deliver safe and high-quality patient care through comprehensive clinical assessment and management.
• Formulate appropriate working diagnoses and seek senior clinical input when required.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
• Ensure effective clinical handover, discharge planning and continuity of patient care.
• Recognise and appropriately manage deteriorating patients.
• Follow BHFLHN and SA Health clinical policies, procedures and professional standards.
• Promote safe and appropriate prescribing practices.
• Participate in incident reporting, complaints management and continuous quality improvement activities.
• Participate actively in education, training and teaching programs.
• Take part in performance review and professional feedback processes.
• Act as a positive professional role model for junior medical staff.
• Participate in accreditation activities, clinical review programs and risk management initiatives.
• Contribute to service improvement and organisational development activities.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to place patients and consumers at the centre of care.

Essential Requirements

• Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent.
• General registration with APHRA.
• Meet the registration and practising requirements applicable to the position.
• Ability to provide safe, high-quality and person-centred medical care.
• Demonstrated clinical assessment, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families and multidisciplinary healthcare professionals.
