About This Opportunity

WA Country Health Service is seeking qualified and enthusiastic Occupational Therapists for senior roles across regional Western Australia.

As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you will plan, coordinate, deliver, monitor and evaluate occupational therapy services to a designated caseload of inpatient, outpatient and/or community clients within a regional location.

The role also provides opportunities to undertake clinical supervision, administrative responsibilities and broader professional activities while developing and expanding your clinical and professional skills within a regional healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, deliver, monitor and evaluate occupational therapy services for an allocated caseload.
• Provide occupational therapy assessment, treatment and evaluation across inpatient, outpatient and/or community settings.
• Apply high-level clinical knowledge and skills to assess and manage clients with a range of occupational therapy needs.
• Develop and implement appropriate occupational therapy interventions based on client needs and clinical assessment.
• Monitor client progress and evaluate the effectiveness of occupational therapy interventions and services.
• Provide clinical leadership and contribute to the development of occupational therapy practice within the clinical team.
• Undertake staff supervision and support the professional development of other staff where required.
• Contribute to clinical governance, professional standards and quality improvement activities.
• Communicate effectively with clients, families, carers, healthcare professionals and other service providers.
• Participate in multidisciplinary teamwork and contribute to coordinated, consumer-centred care.
• Plan, develop, implement and evaluate occupational therapy services, programs or initiatives.
• Undertake administrative responsibilities associated with the delivery and management of occupational therapy services.
• Contribute to service improvement by identifying opportunities to improve the quality, effectiveness and accessibility of occupational therapy services.
• Maintain professional standards, appropriate documentation and ethical practice in accordance with relevant legislation, policies and professional requirements.

Essential Requirements

• Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy.
• Eligibility for registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.
• Relevant clinical experience and high-level knowledge and skills across occupational therapy assessment, treatment and evaluation practices.
• High-level interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to resolve conflicts and negotiate effectively.
• Experience in clinical leadership, staff supervision and clinical governance as a senior member of a clinical team.
• Experience planning, developing, implementing and evaluating an occupational therapy service or initiative.
• Understanding and application of quality improvement principles.
• Availability to commence employment within the recruitment pool validity period, before 20 August 2027.

• This is a statewide recruitment pool for permanent, fixed-term and casual opportunities.
