About This Opportunity

An exciting opportunity is available for passionate Registered Midwives and Clinical Midwives to join the Midwifery Group Practice (MGP) at Gawler Hospital, part of the Barossa Hills Fleurieu Local Health Network (BHFLHN). This ongoing part-time position (32 hours per week) offers the opportunity to provide continuity of care to women and their families through a well-established Midwifery Group Practice model.

Working within a close-knit team of six Midwives, you will provide person-centred antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care while collaborating closely with multidisciplinary healthcare professionals. Beyond direct clinical care, you will contribute to service improvement, support students and new staff, participate in clinical education, and help develop evidence-based practice across the service.

    • RN/M1: AUD $77,824 – $106,187 per annum (pro-rata)
    • RN/M2C: AUD $90,913 – $114,917 per annum (pro-rata)
    • Plus 35% Midwifery Group Practice Caseload Allowance, Superannuation and Salary Packaging Benefits

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality, person-centred midwifery care and case management across the maternity continuum.
  • Provide continuity of care within the Midwifery Group Practice model for women and their families.
  • Coordinate patient care while working collaboratively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Support service delivery, patient flow, and clinical care planning.
  • Contribute to clinical leadership, mentoring, and education of students, graduate midwives, and new staff.
  • Assist with clinical protocol development, change management, and service improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in quality improvement projects, clinical audits, research, and evidence-based practice.
  • Promote safe, compassionate, and culturally appropriate maternity care.
