Job Summary
Tamworth Regional Council is looking for a structured, professional, and proactive Project Officer to join their Project Planning and Delivery team. This full-time position is responsible for assisting in the design, procurement, and end-to-end execution of vital civil infrastructure projects, community facilities, and public spaces across the municipality. Key Responsibilities

- Formulate detailed project briefs, draft minor engineering designs, compile technical asset specifications, and maintain accurate cost estimates.
- Supervise on-site contractors and council field staff, ensuring all structural activities align completely with approved construction timelines and standards.
- Monitor active project budgets, process contractor progress payments, track variance logs, and deliver regular financial updates to team leaders.
- Enforce uncompromising work health and safety (WHS) site protocols, environmental protection metrics, and strict quality assurance metrics on all active job sites.

Skills & Requirements
- Proven track record operating as a project coordinator, engineering officer, or construction supervisor on civil infrastructure or public building assets.
- Sound technical understanding of civil construction methodologies, procurement workflows, and modern contract management frameworks.
- Refined verbal and written communication style, with verified capability drafting official technical reports and handling stakeholder inquiries.
- Strong computer literacy, including intermediate to advanced skills using modern project scheduling software, spreadsheets, and GIS databases.
- Must hold and maintain a valid Australian Driver’s License
- Current General Construction Induction Training Card (White Card) is a must.
