Job Summary
Bathurst Regional Council is seeking a qualified, proactive, and safety-focused Waste Management Centre Operator to join their civil infrastructure division. Key Responsibilities

- Operate specialized site machinery, front-end loaders, skid steer loaders, and multi-lift trucks with trailer attachments safely.
- Monitor all waste handling procedures dynamically to ensure full, continuous alignment with statutory NSW EPA licence regulations.
- Manage rural transfer stations and site collection layout points to ensure structured, accessible, and hazard-free drop-off fields.
- Provide professional, clear customer service guidance to public users, enforcing waste minimization and proper resource recovery separation.
- Conduct daily plant pre-start checks, maintain precise logbooks, and report operational risks instantly to the Waste Management Coordinator.
Skills & Requirements
- Must hold a current, valid New South Wales Class HR (Heavy Rigid) Driver’s License or an approved domestic equivalent.
- Proven field experience backed by official, current tickets or certifications of competency to operate front-end loaders and skid steer loaders.
- Demonstrated expertise managing heavy-duty transport setups, specifically multi-lift trucks and trailer integrations.
- Comprehensive working knowledge of Work Health and Safety (WHS) protocols on hazardous sites, including a valid General Construction Induction Card (White Card).
- Absolute flexibility and willingness to participate in rostered weekend and public holiday shifts to maintain public services.
