About This Opportunity

The Flinders and Upper North Local Health Network (FUNLHN) is seeking passionate Physiotherapists to join its Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) in Whyalla and Port Augusta. Working within a supportive multidisciplinary healthcare team, you will assess, treat and manage mobility limitations, chronic pain, balance impairment and falls risk through evidence-based physiotherapy interventions. Services are delivered in clients' homes, community settings and outpatient clinics using personalised rehabilitation and exercise programs designed to maximise functional independence.

Depending on your classification level, you will either work under professional supervision (AHP1) or independently with reduced clinical direction (AHP2), while supporting students, allied health assistants and less experienced clinicians. Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive physiotherapy assessments for older adults receiving Commonwealth Home Support Program services.
  • Develop personalised rehabilitation and exercise programs to improve mobility, balance and functional independence.
  • Assess and manage falls risk, musculoskeletal conditions and mobility impairments.
  • Provide short-term restorative and maintenance physiotherapy interventions.
  • Deliver services within clients' homes, community facilities and clinic environments.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and patient records.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary healthcare professionals to coordinate client care.
  • Educate clients, families and carers on injury prevention, exercise programs and mobility management.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based clinical practice.
  • Provide supervision, mentoring and support to allied health assistants, students and junior clinicians where appropriate.
  • Promote safe, person-centred care while supporting positive health outcomes for older Australians.

Essential Requirements

  • Recognised qualification in Physiotherapy.
  • Eligible for registration with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia (AHPRA).
  • AHP1: New Graduates or Minimum 12 months clinical physiotherapy experience.
  • AHP2: Minimum 2 years post-registration clinical physiotherapy experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver person-centred physiotherapy services.
  • Knowledge of rehabilitation, mobility assessment, pain management and falls prevention.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational, time management and clinical prioritisation abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and evidence-based practice.
  • Ability to supervise students, allied health assistants and junior staff (AHP2).
  • Current driver's licence is desirable due to community-based service delivery.
