Job Summary

Bathurst Regional Council is seeking experienced, self-motivated, and passionate individuals to join their children's services team as Casual Early Childhood Educators at Scallywags Long Day Care. This flexible casual position is responsible for the daily supervision, developmental care, and health management of young children in a collaborative room environment. Key Responsibilities

  • Support the routine operations, room management, and daily care structures for children aged 0 to 5 years at Scallywags Long Day Care.
  • Contribute actively to the development, planning, and implementation of premium play-based educational frameworks.
  • Maintain uncompromising vigilance regarding child health, safety, and hygiene, adhering cleanly to national regulations.
  • Engage positively and respectfully with children, fostering inclusion and implementing behavioral guidance principles consistently.
  • Liaise professionally with families, guardians, and multidisciplinary team members to report on progress and support room workflows.
  • Observe, document, and track individual learning pathways to ensure the center remains a standout model of regional childcare excellence.

Skills & Requirements

  • Proven experience operating within an early childhood education setting or a similar regulated care environment.
  • Computer skills and experience with Storypark is desirable
  • Sound working knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), National Quality Standards (NQS), and Child Safe Standards.
  • Refined verbal and written communication style, with a verified capability to connect seamlessly with young children, peers, and parents.
  • Must hold and maintain a current paid New South Wales Working with Children Check (WWCC) clearance.
  • Possess current approved First Aid, Emergency Asthma Management, Anaphylaxis Management training, CPR (HLTAID011), and Child Protection Training (CHCPRT025).
  • A valid NSW Driver’s License is advantage for the applicants.
