The Repeat Neuro-Behavioural Unit (RNBU) at the Repat Health Precinct offers a specialized opportunity for Registered Mental Health Nurses to work with older people living with severe dementia and complex behavioural and psychological symptoms.
You will provide compassionate relationship-centred care while applying mental health nursing knowledge to assessment, therapeutic interventions, risk minimisation and care planning. Required Education Level: Registered as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds a current practicing certificate. Must be enrolled in an approved mental health course or hold a qualification in mental health practice.

Key Responsibilities
Provide specialised relationship-centred mental health nursing care.
Care for consumers experiencing severe dementia and complex behavioural and psychological symptoms.
Apply mental health nursing principles and relevant professional standards.
Assess consumers and contribute to individualised therapeutic interventions.
Support individual case management and care planning.
Evaluate consumer progress and modify care approaches where required.
Participate in quality improvement and risk minimisation activities.
Promote safe clinical and work practices.

Essential Requirements
Current registration or eligibility for registration as a Registered Nurse with NMBA/AHPRA.
Demonstrated competence in mental health nursing practice in accordance with relevant standards.
Demonstrated competence caring for consumers living with dementia and severe behavioural and psychological symptoms.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Ability to take different perspectives when working with consumers, carers and colleagues.
